Christmas in July!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Okay, not really but believe it or not, the holidays are quickly approaching! You only have 153 days until Christmas! ;-) I have had clients asking about holiday photos already so I forced my kids into posing for some photos this weekend. My neighbors had to think I was crazy taking photos of my kids on the front porch, dressed in sweaters and scarves in the middle of July! Luckily for the kids, it was unseasonably cool that day so they weren't roasting too much in their winter garb!

Just a reminder to those of you planning on holiday photos:

*The last day for holiday sessions is November 21st to insure delivery prior to Christmas.

*Holiday cards take an additional week to process, so please allow a little extra time to receive them.

Here are a few of the shots from this weekend to get you in the holiday mood! (More photos will be added to my website in the next couple weeks.)

Another gorgeous Mommy-to-Be

I had another amazing maternity shoot this weekend. The Mommy-to-Be was such gorgeous girl to photograph! She did such a great job and the photos look amazing! I have been working on editing them all weekend and I can't wait to share them with them. So where are these amazing photographs you ask? Well, the husband is a public official so he has requested that I don't share any photographs without his permission. I am hoping once they see the photos, they will allow me to share a few so stay tuned!! ;-)

I won honorable mention!

I recently entered a Photo Fashion contest and won honorable mention! The theme of the contest was "The New Look of Professional Photography". They wanted to see what fellow photographers were wearing to shoots to stay modern, stylish, and comfy, while still remaining professional.

The coveted grand prize? A brand new ShootSac by Jessica Claire which I am dying to have! I didn't end up winning the bag but I did get a $25 gift certificate to the Design Aglow website, so that's cool!

Here is the link to my page with my photo! Alex took this photo as I was literally running out the door to a shoot. It could have been a much better photo if I had had more time! Oh, well...you live and learn...and save $25!!

Sneak Peak: Mommy-to-Be "M"

I had the most amazing maternity shoot last night with Mommy-to-Be "M". This shoot has been long coming because we first spoke during the Parent Expo in May. Her name was selected out of over 150 entrants to receive a free session. I couldn't have drawn a better name from the raffle! "M" was so amazing! First off, she is gorgeous...second, she has a beautiful house...and third she was up for anything! She had so many ideas of creative things she wanted to try. We were shooting until 10:30 last night!! I'm sure she is exhausted today! Anyway...I wanted to share a few of my favorites that I have worked on so far. I have about 300 to go through, so it will take a while! ;-)

Calling all Hard Rockin' Girls!

I am officially launching my new signature "Rock n Roll Princess" series. I am so excited about getting this series rolling that I am offering 25% off all photo sessions that will include the Rock n Roll Princess session.

This is a new series is perfect for girls aged 2-8. The session will be included along with the normal outdoor photo session. I will supply the costume (tutu, leg warmers, tank top); you will need to bring something to wear under the tutu (preferably black shorts or black underwear/bikini bottoms) and shoes- chuck taylors, boots, or cowboy boots work great. You are more than welcome to include anything else that might work to personalize your session- scarves, hats, hoodie sweatshirts, etc.

This series has an edgy, artistic, rock n roll feel to it so we aren't looking for girly looks but rather a high fashion look.

You can see some examples of the first photos in this series in the previous post (sneak peak: Little "J"). Let me know if you have any questions regarding this series!

Sneak Peak: Little "J"

I am so excited to share a few sneak peaks of Little "J"'s session last night. She was such a good little model! She kept coming up with fun little poses all on her own and was determined to not stop until the camera "got tired". We shot over 350 images in less than 2 hours in the 90 degree heat wearing leg warmers! She was such a cutie! I think this little one may have a future career in modeling!

my weekend with the family

Whew! We spent a long weekend back home in Indiana visiting with family for the 4th of July. We got to visit with all of our family including my aunt Elaine and uncle Bill from Chicago, my aunt Paula and uncle Tom from Ft. Wayne, and my Grandpa Gal who was visiting from Florida! We also got to spend some time with my sister from Indianapolis, my parents in Lafayette, and my in-laws in Converse. It was quite a busy few days! Here are a few shots from a photo shoot I did of the family. I will post some "fireworks" photos a bit later!
