Sneak Peak: "Baby T" ~ Your Heroes Winner

I had a great session with "Baby T" and his family this weekend. That family is OBSESSED with the Steelers! It was so cute to see the whole family decked out in their Steelers garb preparing for the game. "Baby T" wasn't so sure about having his photos taken so it was a quick session but I think we got some great shots in that short amount of time.

Mary Poppins is in the house!

I finally found a nanny! My old (and new-it's a long story! ) friend Sarah is going to watch my kids on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. "Why should I care about this development?" you ask? Well now I will have more time to work on photos which means a fast turn around time for current clients and the opportunity for weekday appointments as well as the weekend sessions as before. I am now booking for those days so if you are interested in a weekday appointment, let me know!

Sneak Peak: "Miss E"~ Your Rock n Roll Princess

You could not have picked a better girl to win the Rock n Roll Princess contest! I had such a great time with "Miss E" yesterday morning. We met at a horse farm and hung out playing dress up for a couple hours while I just shot away. "Miss E" is SO ADORABLE!! I think these ended up being some of my favorite shots from the series to date. Thank you to all of you who voted for her. If it weren't for your votes, this wouldn't have been possible! ;-)

Sneak Peak: "Baby C"

I had a wonderfully casual and yet intimate session with newborn "Baby C" and her parents. She was only 2 weeks old at our session and yet she never cried once! As long as she was being fed every half hour, she was happy! ;-) "Baby C"'s parents are gorgeous and together they make such a cute and happy little family. I can't wait to follow little "Baby C" and her family as she grows up!

Sneak Peak: "Baby C" and "Little A"

Brrrrr! I had a great session with "Baby C" and his cousin "Little A" on Saturday morning. It was a brisk 55 degrees but those kids were troopers! "Baby C" was such a smiley little baby considering it was his first experience with the chilly weather. I think the adults were more concerned with it than he was. Poor "Little A" was not in a very smiley mood though...the poor little thing had a cold and WAS cold so she was a little grumpy but we managed to get some good shots in before heading to our cars to warm up!

I had a very busy weekend...

I had 3 sessions on Saturday and then joined in a group photo shoot on Sunday where I shot 6 models! I was on location for the group shoot all day on Sunday. I left my house at 8 AM and didn't get home until 9 PM. Needless to say, I am a little worn out. I am working my butt off to get some sneak peaks up, so bare with me! I should have sneak peaks of Baby "C", Little "A", and newborn Baby "C" soon.

Also, I decided to cancel the back-to-school contest due to lack of entries. Those that did enter will receive a $30 print credit towards a future session. Keep an eye out for a new contest...that will hopefully be more popular!

Let's see those "back-to-school" photos!

I decided to bump the spooks and spirits contest back a few weeks to do a back-to-school contest instead. As a child growing up my mom always made sure we took a "first day of school" photo right before we headed off to the bus stop. I always felt so silly standing out in front of the whole neighborhood but now I am of course carrying on the tradition with my own children. Chasen went to his first day of preschool yesterday. It was a strange feeling to leave him at school for the first time. He didn't even care that I was leaving! He just said, "Bye Mom!" and when I came back to pick him up he said, "Hi, Mommy! Where's Daddy?"! How typical! ;-)

Anyway...for this contest, I want to see your little ones heading off to school this year. Whether it's preschool, elementary school, etc, let's see them! All entries must be received by midnight on Sunday, September 16th. Please email your photo with your child's name and age to me at amy@babystepsstudios.com.

As always, the entries will be voted on by readers of the blog. The winner will receive a free photo session with me. To be fair to all entrants, previous winning families are excluded from the contest. Contest winner must live in the Columbus, Ohio area or be willing to travel into Columbus for the session.

Here's a photo of Chasen heading off to school yesterday!

Please take a moment...

...to remember those who lost their lives in the September 11th attacks. I will never forget that day, 6 years ago. Alex and I watched in horror and disbelief as the events unfolded. Now 6 years later, there is barely any mention of the attacks on TV. Please take a moment to remember those we lost, then go give your children a huge hug!

Sneak Peak: "Baby B"

I had a fun session with "Baby B" this weekend. He was a little cranky and not super smiley but who can blame him? His parents said he was up at 4 AM and refused to go back to sleep! I can't wait to go back and shoot with this family again in November! We had so much fun while shooting. "Baby B" is such a cutie!

I just had to include this one as well...check out that face!!

You love me, you really love me!!

Okay, so you guys have really blown me away! It has been just over a week and a half since I added a hits counter to my blog and I have had over 1000 hits so far!! You guys must really enjoy listening to me babble! (Yeah, yeah...I realize that it is probably more about the photos than my babbling that keeps you coming back!)

Anyway...I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for putting up with me! ;-)

Sneak Peak: Mommy-to-Be "G"

I had a great session on Friday with gorgeous Mommy-to-Be "G". She is this 5 foot 10 inch beauty with a pregnant body to kill for! We had so much fun just hanging out during the shoot. "G" was doing this as a surprise for her husband so were we had to be sneaky and a bit deceiving to make sure he didn't come home and spoil it!

I am a little late getting these sneak peaks posted due to the holiday weekend spent taking care of two spotted children! (In case you haven't heard, my children came down with some strange virus causing them to be super cranky and covered head to toe in red spots!) Anyway...I am super thrilled with the way the photos came out. Hopefully, she will think it is well worth the wait!
