Holiday Card Special

The holiday season is quickly approaching and sessions are filling up fast. If your schedule is as busy as ours with swimming lessons, soccer games, and school activities (and my oldest is only in preschool!), you may not have time to get the family together for a photo for that holiday card but you can still have a great holiday card to send out this year.

If you had a photo session done by me in the past 6 months, you can use those photos for your cards instead of shooting a new session. Maybe you just had an amazing newborn session that you want to show off to everyone or maybe we shot a great session with your 2 year old in the park this summer. There is no reason why you can't use those photos on your cards. You could even combine a couple sessions on your holiday card to show off how much your children have grown this year...perfect for those Milestones clients!

The fine print:

• "Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off" all holiday card orders from previously shot sessions only
• no archive fee to re-upload your session (email me your session info to have your gallery re-uploaded)
• no minimum purchase required
• no limit on the number of discounted boxes (i.e. buy two, get two 1/2 off- buy three, get three 1/2 off)
• special available for sessions shot between March 2008- August 2008 only
• discount taken off the least expensive items
• may not be combined with any other offers however previous print credits can be redeemed with this offer

Orders must be placed before mid-night on Friday, October 10th. (no exceptions)

5x7 flat cards w/envelopes start at $55/pk 25
5x7 folded cards w/ envelopes start at $75/pk 25
various paper choices are available (additional charge may apply)

Check out the entire collection of Holiday 08 cards on the website in the "holiday 08" gallery. If you would like to take advantage of this great offer, please email me with your session info so that I can re-upload your gallery. Please allow 1-2 days for the re-upload process.

Still searching for a few more Tweens/Teens!

I am in need of a few tweens/teens to add to my portfolio and possibly use on future covers of Columbus Parent Magazine. I am looking for a couple boys and girls between the ages of 10-14 who will be available to shoot on a Monday or Wednesday evening at 4:00 in the next couple weeks. Children should be outgoing, willing to take direction, and photogenic. These sessions will have an urban feel to them with a nod to Limited Too, abercrombie kids, and Gap Kids ads.

I will have complete control over the direction of these shoots and will provide ideas for clothing selection as well. These sessions will be done complimentary to those children that are selected with no obligation to purchase prints. You will have the opportunity to purchase prints after the session if you would like.

If you are interested in submitting your child, please send me an email with the following information along with a recent, clear photo.

Sneak Peek: "Evan- Class of 09"

I had a wonderful senior session with Evan last week! He was a great kid...full of ideas and personality. We all couldn't believe how quickly the 2 hours went by. I am so happy with the way these photos came out! :-)

Check out more of his sneak peeks on the senior blog.

Sneak Peek: "Mommy-To-Be J"

You might as well get used to this family because you will be seeing quite a bit of them in the coming weeks! I first met this wonderful family last year when I did a session with "K" and "A" for holiday photos. These little boys are the sweetest little guys! They are almost exactly a year older than my guys, so it always gives me a glimpse into my future when I am around them.

I was so excited when I got a call from "J" to schedule a session for holiday photos of the boys AND a maternity session for herself! She is due with a little girl next month so not only did we shoot her maternity session this week, but we will be shooting the boys' holiday session next week and the newborn session a couple weeks after that! Luckily this family is quite possibly the nicest family in the world so I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with them in the near future! "J" is looking as gorgeous as ever which always helps out! Enjoy your sneak peeks, "J"!

Holiday 08 cards are here!

It has taken a while to get them all finalized but they are ready and up on the site in the "holiday 08" gallery. All of the cards are available in both a flat and folded 5x7 card and come with envelopes as well. Cards are sold in boxes of 25.

Here are a few of my favorites:

I must say a special thanks to my wonderful husband for creating these cards for me. Between dealing with my crazy ideas, random font issues, and type A personality, he has been quite a trooper! Most of the imagery was hand drawn, painted, or inked so he really did work hard on them. So thank you, honey! :-)

Sneak Peek: "Mommy-To-Be D"

It's time for another gorgeous mommy-to-be. I swear, I have such beautiful pregnant clients! I was looking forward to this session for a few weeks. "D" was scheduled for a session a few weeks ago but ended up having some false labor the night before our session. Needless to say, we had to reschedule the session. The only date I had available was about 2 days before her due date. We were both just hoping she didn't go into labor while we were shooting! I haven't heard from her yet, but hopefully she had a smooth labor. I can't wait to shoot the newborn session in the next couple weeks!

Sneak Peek: "Little H"

After the storms last week caused us to reschedule this session twice, we actually got lucky with a beautiful day to shoot this session. "Little H"'s Grandma called me to schedule a session for his one year photos along with a family photo while his "Aunt A" was in town visiting from California. Well, due to the rescheduling, we weren't able to get a big group shot done because Grandpa had a meeting but we were able to get some great shots for Grandma's holiday cards anyway! "Little H" was such a doll! He had the most adorable chubby little legs and arms! I was so happy when his Mom suggested doing some shots a'natural...so adorable!! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Sneak Peek: "Little S"

This session is a perfect example of how much easier a 12 month session can go if the child is not walking yet. "Little S" was so sweet and easy to capture because she isn't quite ready to walk yet. We shot this session on Saturday morning after a lot of rain the night before, so we had to work a little harder to get the shots with all the clouds overhead and avoid getting into too many mud puddles! (Luckily we had this session scheduled for the day before Hurricane Ike came through!) "Little S" looked so adorable in her little dress and leggings...I only wish they made them in my size, too!

When we were finished shooting at the park, we headed back towards the house to get a few shots on the front step. Unfortunately, "S" was super excited about what Daddy was doing behind me that she lost her balance and toppled over onto the sidewalk! We all felt so badly for the little girl! I'm sure it wasn't the first or the last little topple but I still felt bad! Anyway...here are your sneak peeks; I hope it was worth the scratches! :-)

Sneak Peek: "Mommy-To-Be G"

Here is another one of those maternity sessions I was talking about. "Mommy-To-Be G" was so excited about our session that she had several ideas planned out before I got there. We had such a great time trying out new ideas and poses. "G" was up for anything so I put her to the test. We had to deal with a difficult lighting situation with the storm heading in, but we managed to get some great shots out of it. I can't wait to meet the new little guy or girl in a couple months! Good luck, "G"!

("G" wanted to stick with the classic/contemporary look of black and whites but I had to throw one color image in the mix; the photo was just calling out to be in color with that fabulous orange couch!)

Any computer techies out there?

I am having MAJOR computer issues and I can't seem to catch a break. The guys at the Genius Bar at the Apple store can't do anything because my problem is with my external hardrive. They suggested that I buy DiskWarrior to hopefully fix the problem and then copy to a new external drive but my computer won't book from DiskWarrior so I seem to be between a rock and a hard place, so to speak. Anyone out there who knows about computers...specifically Macs?? Please email me if you can help! Thanks!

Computer issues

I am having major computer problems today (in part due to the storms that blew through the area last night). I have an appointment at the Apple Store this afternoon so I am hoping to get everything up and running again by this evening but I can't be sure of that. If you are waiting for proof galleries or sneak peeks, I assure you they are coming soon! Please be patient with me and hopefully, everything will get back on schedule in a day or two. Thanks!

Sneak Peek: Mariah- Class of 2009

I just have to share my most recent senior photo session with you. This girl was just gorgeous and so much fun to shoot with! I felt like I was shooting a little sister instead of a client. Youc an check out more of her session on the senior blog here.
