Sneak Peek: "Little P"

This session was so much fun! "Little P" was a blast to play with and had such a great room with tons of great light! One year old's are always such an adventure. We spent about an hour playing peek-a-boo, making funny sounds, and acting silly before he decided he was done. I then sat around with "P"'s Mom just talking at the kitchen table over a cup of coffee for about an hour! It was such a nice break in my day! I feel so connected to this family and I can't wait for another session with them soon. His parents are both firefighters (which is so totally cool, in my book) and have agreed to help me out with a special 9/11 project in September, so you will definitely be seeing them again in the future! Enjoy your sneak peek, guys!

Now accepting applications for Class of 2010 Senior Reps!

Okay, all you Juniors out there...we are looking for a few good kids to be reps for the Class of 2010 with The Next Step Studios. If you are looking for a new spin on your senior photos, then this is the place to go.

All of our sessions are done on-location at (just about) any location of your choice. If you are an earthy spirit, we can shoot at a local park, at a lake, in a river, in the middle of cornfields etc. If you are more of a urban spirit, we can shoot downtown, in the Short North, the Arena District, etc. Each senior session will be completely different because we will build the session around you. This is not the "stand in front of the big '10 and pose" kind of senior photos but rather a new high fashion take on your photos. We have experience working with all kinds modeling sessions and use that to make your session a great experience. Who doesn't want to be a model for a day?

So, now that I've got your attention, you wanna hear the details of the *SENIOR REP* position?

If you are selected to be *SENIOR REP* for us, you will receive a FREE mini senior photo session taking place anytime between now and April 30th. From this mini session, you will receive rep cards with your name and photo on them along with our info. You pass these cards out to all your friends...drum up some interest...and refer your friends to The Next Step Studios. You will also receive a proof book from your session that is yours to keep along with 8 of our favorite photos from your session sized and watermarked for use on your Myspace and Facebook pages. For each senior you refer to us, you will receive a complimentary set of 8 wallets of your choice. The *SENIOR REP* who refers the most seniors to us (who complete a senior session), will receive $100 CASH as a bonus!

If you are interested in becoming a *SENIOR REP*, send me an email to amy@thenextstepstudios.com with following info including a recent photo.

Sneak Peek: "Baby N"

Okay, this little guy was a total doll! Six month sessions are always fun because the little guys can interact with the camera so much more but this session with "Baby N" was over the top! I got so many great facial expressions out of him in the short 45 minutes that we shot! He was just so into everything I did that it made the session a breeze! I can't wait to shoot with "Little N" again in the future...

Sneak Peek: "Mommy-To-Be E"

It's time for another gorgeous Mommy-To-Be! I had such a great time shooting with "E" last week. She has got to be one of the most gorgeous pregnant women I have seen! I casually asked her the question I ask all of my maternity clients, "Is there anyway you can still fit into any of your pre-pregnancy jeans for a few shots?". Most moms give me that "Are you kidding??" look. "E" gave me that look as well and then came down looking adorable in her size 25 (YES, she is one of those lucky women!) Rock & Republic jeans! I can tell you that I was a little jealous at that point but they did look great! "E" was up for anything that I threw at her which made for an amazing session! I can't wait to meet the little guy when he is born. Enjoy your sneak peeks, E. You look great!

Community Work- The Childhood League

Back in November, I was asked my Sarah Spring of Big Red Rooster if I would be willing to work with them on a project for The Childhood League. Sarah was creating a new annual report and newsletter for the center and wanted some great photos of the children at the center to add to the design. I, of course, said I would love to help them out but I must say, I wasn't exactly sure what the day would be like.

I can safely say that the short 4 hours that I spent at the center will hold a special place in my heart forever. Those children were some of the most sweet children I have ever met. Within minutes of stepping foot in the classroom, I had children on each leg begging me to sit with them in their own special way. They all wanted to share their toys and snacks with me and begged me not to leave when I was through. It was one of the most up-lifting experience of my life and now with my own son, Kyan's, pending diagnosis of Childhood Apraxia of Speech and verbal developmental delay, that day takes on a whole new meaning to me.

It has taken a long time to get some parental approvals to post some of these photos but I know have a few that I can share. If you get a spare second, be sure to check out the links and help out in any way you can.
